Advent Worship-Close to Home
All are invited as we worship at 9:30am on Sundays during the season of Advent, a sacred time of preparation during which we will consider how God makes a home among us.
We welcome all in the sanctuary for worship, with Zoom worship as an option for those who prefer to worship remotely.
We will have the following precautions in place for those gathering in the sanctuary:
- For those eligible to be vaccinated for COVID-19, by attending in person we understand you to be representing that you have been vaccinated out of care not only for yourself, but also for others, including the most vulnerable.
- Masks (covering nose and mouth) are required for everyone age 2 and older throughout worship. Worship leaders are permitted to remove their masks while leading worship, as long as they remain 6+ feet from worship participants.
- Physical distancing is expected. Every other row front to back will be blocked off, with the front rows of each section reserved for worship leaders. Groups choosing to sit together should leave 2 empty chairs between them and other groups.
- There will be no congregational singing at this time. Those in the sanctuary may hum along with song leader on hymns. Words to hymns will be projected for those on Zoom to sing along as desired.
- During worship, doors of the sanctuary into the narthex (main entry hall) will remain open to promote better airflow/ ventilation. If needed, the narthex and Fireside Room will be used for overflow seating.
- Financial offerings can be placed in our financial gifts box (on the wall of the narthex) as you enter or depart.
- To limit unmasked encounters, there will be no food or refreshments served following worship.
Those who prefer to worship remotely may join us via Zoom (online or via phone). View detailed instructions on how to worship via Zoom. If you will be worshiping with us on Zoom, consider the following in preparation for worship:
- We will open the “virtual” doors for worship (i.e. we’ll let people in from the waiting room) beginning at 9:25am when our gathering music begins.
- If you will only have audio, we encourage you to keep a copy of the order of service handy, so that you will have the words for unison prayers and hymns.
- Email Pastor Kendra (kendra.grams@fpchudson.net) your prayers of joy and concern by 8 am Sunday (or enter them in the Zoom chat during worship) for inclusion in our shared prayers.
Embracing our core value of “creativity, diversity, & balance in worship, music, & art,” our worship includes various musical styles and worship elements. Each week, in Scripture, song, and prayers, we give thanks to God for all God’s good gifts and seek God’s call to faithful service in the world. Throughout the year, we incorporate other special elements into worship with the changing seasons and for special occasions.
