Deacons Meeting

The deacons, called by God and elected by the congregation, support the pastor in ministering to members who are ill, homebound, or in need. The deacons extend such care by various means including cards, visits, calls, meals, transportation, and special events. Meet our current deacons here.

In the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) (PCUSA), deacons are “servants” or “caregivers” of the congregation who minister to those in need, both within and beyond the community of faith. Their ministry is one of compassion, witness, service, and sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. Deacons are responsible for caring for those in need, bringing justice, assisting with and providing hospitality for worship, and other duties as needed. Deacons minister to the poor, hungry, sick, lost, friendless, oppressed, and anyone in distress. They may also assist pastors with pastoral care.
