RiverFest River Clean Up Children’s Activities

Partnering with St. Croix RiverFest:
Next week is St. Croix RiverFest! The RiverFest is happening July 16-20th this year and encourages community members of all ages to care for and enjoy the St. Croix River in a variety of activities. One central event is a riverfront clean-up on Tuesday, July 16th. Pastor Lora and a few others will be on hand to help provide safe and fun activities for the youngest children present while others fan out and clean up trash and other materials along the shore. Whether you’re young and coming for the fun activities or willing to join in the clean-up efforts, please consider joining us next week starting at 10AM. All activities will start at the Lakefront bandshell.

As part of RiverFest 2024, First Presbyterian will be hosting children’s activities at the annual River Clean up on Tuesday, July 16, at the Lakefront Park Bandshell (505 1st Street, Hudson, WI 54016). All are welcome to help with the river clean up or to participate in the children’s activities. Contact Pastor Lora (lora.burge@fpchudson.net) for more info.

THE ANNUAL RIVER CLEAN-UP is a core activity of the RiverFest. Community volunteers get out on the river collecting trash and work to help clean up the river. While the goal of RiverFest is to get people out to enjoy the river, the river clean-up is the “Purpose” for the celebration.

Hudson’s St. Croix RiverFest was born out of the Wild Rivers Conservancy’s (formerly named the St. Croix River Association) River Awareness Week and with a goal building awareness of the St. Croix River.  RiverFest encourages people to enjoy, understand and preserve this national treasure that flows right past our community in Hudson, Wisconsin.

This year’s activities are planned to appeal to a variety of people and share a common thread of building awareness of the river, our environment and education on the need to preserve our water quality.

View the Events page for a complete listing of RiverFest activities.
