Session Meeting

The Session, or church board, is made up of elders, who are called by God and elected by the congregation to guide the ministry of the church. The Session is called to follow Christ’s leading so that all may be nurtured in faith and faithfulness to God’s desires for the world. The pastor serves at moderator of the Session. At the heart of our local church governance is the Session – a dynamic group of ruling elders chosen by our wonderful congregation. These dedicated individuals work together to nurture the spiritual growth of our family of faith and keep the church running smoothly.

The Session’s role is multifaceted and exciting! They ensure that God’s Word is shared through engaging worship, oversee the joyous celebration of sacraments, and warmly welcome new members into our church family. They’re passionate about education, mission work, and caring for everyone in our community. The Session also guides our financial stewardship, looks after our church property, and helps maintain a loving, inclusive environment. They’re also the bridge between our congregation and the wider Presbyterian family. From reviewing membership rolls to training new leaders, from directing various ministries to employing staff, the Session is always busy!

In essence, the Session works tirelessly to help our congregation flourish as a community of faith, hope, love, and witness. It’s an inclusive, collaborative effort that brings out the best in our church family. Everyone’s voice matters in this journey of faith we’re on together!
