Thanksgiving Service
The Hudson Area Ministerial Association (HAMA) will host a community-wide Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 21, at 4:00pm, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, (1500 Vine Street, Hudson).
All ages are welcome. The service will also be livestreamed on St. Pat’s Facebook page.
The offering received at this service will go to support Afghan refugees currently residing at Fort McCoy, in Tomah, Wisconsin. With the end of the 20 year war in Afghanistan, the United States plans to resettle approximately 60,000 Afghan refugees fleeing their country and seeking safe haven. At this time, nearly 12,000 of these refugees are living at Ft. McCoy in Tomah, Wisconsin. The Department of Defense has asked Team Rubicon, a volunteer organization of veterans, to take the lead on collecting and distributing clothing for these vulnerable people who departed their home with very little but the clothes on their backs. They are now in serious need of winter clothing as they continue to live at Ft McCoy awaiting permanent resettlement across the US. You can financially support this effort to provide clothing by going to: https://teamrubiconusa.org/resettlement. Thank you for your support of Afghan families as they build new lives in the United States.
