Valley Wide Pride Fest – Hudson High School
*** Due to weather – Location has changed to Hudson High School 1501 Vine Street, Hudson WI
Here in Hudson the 2nd ever Valley Wide Pride will happen on Saturday, June 22nd – Hudson High School, 1501 Vine St. Our church will host a Pride worship service the next day on Sunday, June 23rd. There are many ways you can be involved:
- Our church will be hosting a booth from 10am-4pm where we give out rainbow chocolate cookies and work on a community art project that will become worship art the following day. We need cookie bakers (we can provide a recipe or you can use your own if you send along a list of ingredients; keep in mind they may be out in hot sun all day) and volunteers to help set up/host/tear down our booth that day. SIGN UP HERE >>
- We are confident the Pride event itself is still recruiting volunteers and accepting donations. More information can be found on their website https://www.hudsonwipride.com/
- If it helps to entice you to attend your first Pride event, Pastor Lora is helping to lead the kick-off and give opening remarks. Hudson pride is a very community-based and family friendly event. The festival and kick-off will happen from the Lakefront Park bandshell at 10AM. Show up and be a proud ally to the LGBTQ+ community.
- On Sunday, our Pride worship will be organized around the micropractice of hospitality and the core value that each of us is beloved. Pastor Lora is doing her best to make it a meaningful service for EVERYONE. After worship, we will enjoy Pride ice cream sundaes again as we did last year.
- The number one thing you can do to support these efforts is getting the word out:
- About the Pride event itself.
- That our church will be there and people should visit our booth.
- Invite people to worship! If you know someone who would appreciate coming to a Pride worship or knowing that such a thing exists in Hudson, please personally invite them.
