Ongoing Ways to Serve in Hudson and Beyond
- Join our Mission Sewers the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month to complete various projects for Bundles of Love, Second Mile Haiti, and other missions
- Become a participant/ member on our Mission Ministry Team, helping to guide dollars to where they are most needed in the community and plan service opportunities for our family of faith
- Help staff the Hudson Food Cupboard each April
- Watch our e-newsletter, social media, and calendar for service opportunities various Sundays following worship or during the week
- Donate the following items for use by our mission partners:
- non-perishable food for clients of the Hudson Food Shelf—mayo, pickles, and tissues are often in short supply
- new or like new children’s books (for ages 0-5) for distribution to clients of the Wisconsin Women, Infant, Child (WIC) Program
- new children’s clothes, blankets, and hygiene supplies for distribution by Safe Haven Foster Shoppe to children being placed in foster care—view list of needed items
- used adult clothing & accessories for resale at Our Neighbor’s Place secondhand store supporting their clothing voucher program
- household, office, and hygiene supplies for Grace Place shelter—view list of needed items
Ongoing Opportunities to Serve at First Pres
- Host Post-Worship Coffee and Refreshments—Families and friends encouraged to serve together!
- Audio-Visual Booth Volunteers (orientation/ training provided)—All ages welcome! Talk to the pastor or a member of the tech team!
- Lay Readers—All ages welcome! Talk to the pastor to learn more!
- Serve Communion in Worship—All ages welcome! Talk to the pastor to find an open Sunday!
- Assist with Liturgical Art Displays—All ages welcome! Contact the pastor or watch for special announcements in the e-newsletter about upcoming times to assist!
- Sanctuary (Vocal) Choir—All ages welcome! Talk to the Director of Music to learn more!
- Bell Choir—All ages welcome! Talk to the Director of Music to learn more!
- Snow Patrol—Watch for a sign-up each fall to be “on call” for a week should their be measurable snowfall.
- Share a Bible lesson and Bible-based activity with children during Kids Connection (lesson plans & activity ideas provided to get you started)—Age 18+ with background check required! Talk to a pastor for more info!
- Kids Connection Youth Assistant—Middle school and high school students welcome! Talk to a pastor for more info!
- Host Kid’s Corner creative play space in the library during worship. Talk to a pastor for more info!
- Nursery Sub—Age 18+ with background check required. Talk to a pastor for more info!
- Prepare and Deliver a Meal to Those Experiencing Health Challenges and/or Life Transitions—Families and friends encouraged to serve together! Talk to a pastor for more info!
