Our Beliefs

We believe that God has made God’s self known in the world as Creator, Christ, and Holy Spirit!

God the Creator is known by many names. No name for God can fully express who God is. God created all that is and pronounced it good! God created humanity in God’s image and entrusted us with the high calling of caring for God’s creation and working with God to further God’s dreams for the world. Humans have often turned from God’s love and this high calling, but God is faithful forever.

Jesus Christ came to show us how to live out the great commandment to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus demonstrated that loving God and loving others means caring for all and, in particular, caring for those pushed aside or ignored by society. Jesus sought to establish the just, peaceful, merciful, and loving world that God has always desired. In Christ’s birth, life, death, and resurrection, we see that God will stop at nothing to show us how much we are loved and that nothing—not even death—can hold back God’s love.

The Holy Spirit empowers and equips us to come together and continue seeking God’s desires for the world. The Holy Spirit helps us hear God’s wisdom and call anew through the study of Holy Scripture, in conversation and community, through worship and the sacraments of baptism and communion, and by embracing God’s beautifully diverse creation.

We are called by God to share God’s love through word and action and to continue to grow in faith, until the day when God’s dreams of love, justice, and peace fully come to be! And so, we seek transformation not only in our personal lives, but also in the world around us as we strive to love God and love neighbors as ourselves.
